Application Development Manager

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES : Leads a team of applications developers, database administrators, and business systems analysts to meet the automation and computing needs of the business. Works with business owners, customers and consultants to develop core requirements and deliverables. Develops/follows standards for the creation of software applications. Ensures current development environment is current with industry standards and practices. Develop and maintain systems and applications focused on high quality, dependability, and high availability; leads the development of software and computer applications; prioritizes efforts and maintains project plans; evaluate current staff to determine skills are best fitted with the departmental and Bank's objectives; analyzes business/project requirements and establishes reasonable and accurate time frames for completion; implements and manages a software/application change control process that meets both regulatory and business requirements; utilizes SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) practices and adheres to established processes for the analysis, design, testing and rollout of new/modified computer applications; manage relationships with key business owners and Sr. Managers to insure business needs are met and deliverables are accurate and on time; provide superior customer service to all employees at multiple locations; escalates issues to management as necessary to insure any changes to deadlines or commitments are understood and addressed appropriately; acquires necessary knowledge of banks systems and applications (Trust, Retail and Commercial systems, etc.) to provide efficient and effective applications and tools, constantly reviews applications and program code to insure maximum efficiency and prevent duplication; acts as technical resource expert for application development group and the entire Information Technology department; leads multiple projects simultaneously and has the ability to multi-task and control project deliverables and expectations; maintains a thorough understanding of available technology tools, existing application designs, and industry trends; directs the design, coding and testing of applications to insure business needs are met; perform MBO reviews for all direct reports; assist in the development and maintenance of IT Policies and standards; meet with vendors, customers and/or consultants to assist in potential integration of new products/programs. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE : 4 year degree in Computer Science or equivalent, 7-10 years of experience in application development. REQUIRED SKILLS : Project management, strong customer service skills, excellent written and oral communication skills; development/Lead experience with: C#, JavaScript, HTML, XML, ASP.NET, Database Tools, Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Studio .NET, Team Foundation Server, SharePoint and Microsoft CRM., prior/Current experience with Banking or Financial Institutions, knowledge of Banking/Financial Institution regulatory requirements.
