Human Resources Analyst

The Human Resources Analyst performs a variety of routine and complex technical and professional work in analyzing and administering functional areas of the City's Human Resource policies and programs.  Functional areas include:  recruitment, employee relations, benefits, compensation, position classification, labor relations, training, and performance management.  Assignments and projects in these functional areas will vary between analysts and may change from time to time.  Communicates accurate and timely information to Payroll; conducting research and analysis on various HR related and special projects.   Performs other duties as assigned by Director of Human Resources.

Note:    The assignment and focus of this position will be benefits/leave administration.    Administers City health and welfare benefit plans including education of employees, status change processing and coordination of annual benefits fair and open enrollment process.  Conducts analysis of benefit plan enhancements and vendor selection.   Develops and delivers various benefit program presentations to groups of City employees.  Coordinates leave programs with employees, managers, timekeepers and payroll, including but not limited to FMLA, shared leave, unpaid leave, and military leave.
