Construction Inspector - Public Works

The Kirkland Development Construction Inspector inspects for plans and specification compliance on large development, mall projects and the typical development of short plats as well as both single and multi family projects in the City of Kirkland. 

The Construction Inspector will primarily inspect development projects that are both under way or in the process of launching within the City limits of Kirkland.  The inspector position confirms building standard compliance with APWA, Washington DOT, Asphalt Institute, AASHTO, MUTCD, Federal and State ADA and City of Kirkland Preapproved Plans and standards, specifications, applicable codes and ordinances. Construction Inspector work involves developing  accurate records for projects, daily interactions with Kirkland Engineers and Staff, consultants and contractors while performing field building and development inspections. This position determines and implements necessary field revisions and responds to public inquiries or complaints relating to construction activities, standards, and procedures.
