Safety Service Manager

MCT Transportation is currently hiring for a Safety Services Manager in our Sioux Falls office to manage a department of 4 Safety professionals on a daily basis. JOB SUMMARY The Safety Services Manager is responsible for completing the administrative, Driver Qualification and DOT Compliance tasks as required. Prepares and reviews driver qualification files to ensure compliance with Company policy and governmental regulations. Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of driver training programs. Assists the VP of Safety in the collection and review of data for analysis used in loss trending. Provides expertise on regulatory issues, and training/evaluating employees on safety procedures. Provides guidance and reports to Operations/Terminals regarding Safety program compliance. Monitors the Driver Trainer utilization. Conducts/directs post-injury and post-accident reviews. Ensures proper response at the scene of serious collisions/injuries as needed. Reports monthly Safety Key Factor results. JOB CONTENT Ensure that Operations has the reports needed to maintain compliance with Safety processes and DOT regulations, including driver training, driver assessments, roadside inspections, CERs, HOS, MVRs, drug testing, HazMat and physicals. Ensure that Driver Qualification files are compliant at time of hire and as maintained Assist in the analysis of loss trending data used for loss prevention efforts Assist in the determination of qualification of new driver applicants, training requirements and remedial/corrective action for current drivers Manage the department and provide secondary coverage for Safety Department functions MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrated knowledge of safety/loss prevention, FMCSA regulations. Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of various System and PC-based programs including: RAIR, E-logs, FirstLab, FMCSA Portal, Excel, Word and applicable HR system. o Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Sound analytical, judgment, decision-making, and planning and organizational skills required. Willingness to travel periodically as required (less than 10% travel). WAGE / BENEFIT INFORMATION This is a full-time salaried position. Competitive wage and benefit package dependent upon experience and qualifications of the candidate.
