These posts offer talented experts who have interest and experience in delivering high quality graduate education an opportunity to undertake hourly paid work from any global location that has reliable and continuous internet access. Individuals with postgraduate qualifications and/or professional experience in relevant fields associated with the module titles listed below are encouraged to apply: Economics and Global Health Policy Politics of Global Health Policy Environmental Change and Global Health Policy Issues in Global Health Policy (case-study based module) Health Systems   Forthcoming modules in planning and development stages include: Global Public Health Law Research Design and Methods for Political Analysis The successful candidates need to demonstrate proven expertise in their relevant academic field and an understanding of the higher education system in the United Kingdom, with particular reference to expectations of Master’s Degree level learning. Candidates will ideally have experience in delivery of postgraduate education, alongside enthusiasm and engagement with the opportunities that an online learning environment brings. Professional training in educational theory and strategy is available to our tutors through face to face and e-learning platforms. Our distance learning tutors work in small groups on one or more of the following tasks within a given module: moderation of student discussion and supporting asynchronous student learning through online discussion forums in a Virtual Learning Environment, marking assignments, marking exams, contributing to the updating and revision of learning materials and activities, undertaking live and recorded teaching sessions using a range of digital audio-visual technologies, contributing to the development and setting of assessments. Each module is overseen by a Module Organiser and a Deputy Module Organiser who assist in the management and distribution of teaching tasks, monitor and assess the quality of teaching and student feedback, and moderate summative assessments. This position is based at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, but teaching is not delivered on site, and staff appointed to such roles are not assigned office space in the School. Distance Learning staff are expected to undertake these online roles using their own hardware, and any required software or digital infrastructure access will be provided by the School. LSHTM and University of London library resources are made available to all of our staff, including those who work remotely. Appointments will commence as soon as possible, and contracts are without duration. At the start of each academic year, the Deputy Course Director and MO agree a roster of  Distance Learning Tutors based on: demand within each module, tutor availability for a range of tasks that arise at different time points in the year, and also based on tutors; capacity, experience and skill.
