The Building Inspector conducts advanced level inspections directly related to enforcement of protective codes, development regulations, and/or contract requirements. Interprets codes, regulations, laws and ordinances relating to building plan review and inspection; reviews and approves conformance with codes of proposed residential and commercial/industrial buildings and structures. Visits premises and provides information and assistance to owners, developers, and departments or divisions of the City in the process to gain conformance to codes; provides essential construction project start-up and close-out meeting coordination.  Issues appropriate notices or orders when work does not comply with codes.
