Research Operations Contracts Officer – Maternity Cover (ROO-01)

Category: Professional Support | Department: Research Operations | Closing Date: 22 Mar 2016 | A Research Operations Contracts Officer (ROCO) is required to join The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine to provide maternity cover for up to 12 months. This is a key role in the Research Operations Office team working with the School’s Faculty of Infectious & Tropical Diseases (ITD).  The ROCO will be responsible for reviewing, drafting and negotiating research and consultancy contracts on behalf of the School and for providing advice and guidance to staff on project applications and contractual issues in line with funder terms and conditions.   The successful candidate will also have responsibility for quality assurance and compliance on matters concerning their portfolio of contracts and for implementing any changes to systems and processes.   Applicants must have significant experience of research contracts, ideally in a higher education environment, preferably hold a legal qualification and have excellent interpersonal, organisational and planning skills. The successful candidate will be able to prioritise their workload effectively, work independently and demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.    The post is on the School’s Professional Support Pathway Grade 6 with a salary in the range £37,477- £39,273 per annum, inclusive and is available immediately.   This is a challenging but highly rewarding opportunity for the right candidate.    Applications should be made on-line via our website http://bit.ly/1Cy4nnZ.
