Programme Finance Officer (PHP-GHD-01)

Category: Professional Support | Department: Department of Global Health and Development | Closing Date: 18 Feb 2016 | The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, an internationally renowned centre for research and postgraduate education in public health and tropical medicine, is seeking to recruit a Programmes Finance Officer to work with the Health Economics and Systems Analysis Group (HESA), including the Communicable Diseases Policy Research Group based in Thailand. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the research activities of both groups through the financial administration of the Group’s research projects.  They will be responsible for liaising with collaborators over the reporting of expenditure on a major DFID Research Programme Consortium and other research projects, managing advances and expenditure for HESA researchers, ordering supplies and supporting the Programmes Co-ordinator in budgeting and other reporting activities. An ability to communicate effectively, especially with those based away from London, and work as part of a team is essential.  An understanding of developing country issues would be an advantage.  This post would suit someone who has good finance skills and attention to detail, and is interested in working to support research in developing countries. The post is available immediately and will be until 31 March 2017 in the first instance.  Salary will be in the range £27,962 - £31,808 according to qualifications and experience and will be subject to LSHTM terms and conditions.
