Category: Professional Support | Department: Faculty of Epidemiology & Population Health | Closing Date: 26 Feb 2016 | We have a vacancy for a Financial and Administrative Project Manager to work on Access SMC, a 3 year project funded by UNITAID to accelerate the introduction of Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention for children in West Africa. The project aims to provide SMC for 7.5million children in seven countries: Burkina Faso, Chad, Gambia, Guinea, Mali, Niger and Nigeria. The project includes a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation component, to document the public health impact of the intervention, and to monitor the safety of the intervention and any effects on drug resistance. The post-holder will be responsible for management and coordination of the financial, logistical and administrative elements of the evaluation component of ‘Access SMC’. They will be based in the UK but will be required to manage and coordinate the evaluation component of the ‘Access SMC’ across seven countries overseas. The successful applicant must have proven experience in administrative and financial management of large and complex grants preparing financial forecasts and of controlling and monitoring budgets. They must also have excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment. The post holder must be proactive and able to work independently, and have experience of managing budgets, including financial reporting, preparing financial forecasts and of controlling and monitoring budgets. Strong communication skills are also essential. A working knowledge of French would be an advantage. The post, funded by UNITAID, is full time and is currently available from 1st April 2016 to 31st August 2017 (further extension may be granted by the funder). Salary is on the Professional Support Pathway Salary Grade 6 scale. The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year for full-time staff. Membership of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) is available.
