We are seeking a full-time Accountant within our growing Property and Casualty Insurance Department in either our Sheldon, Iowa or Sioux Falls, South Dakota office. The Accountant will be responsible for providing a vast array of complex Assurance and Accounting support services to our P&C Insurance clients. They will manage larger more complex engagements and will prepare and review working papers, regulatory filings and financial statements as well as communicate one-on-one with clients. Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Conducting statutory reporting to federal, state and Insurance regulatory agencies including annual and quarterly statements. Preparing financial statements, premium/loss reports, and expense and budget analysis. Complete audit and analysis of transactions: financial statements, summaries, exhibits and reports for accuracy with statutory accounting principles. Coordinate and supervise general ledger and all affiliate ledger systems to supports reporting under statutory accounting principles, SAP, and company cost models and allocations. Prepare and/or review financial statements, regulatory filings, notes, schedules, management letters, and tax returns for later discussion between manager or partner and the client. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience with statutory accounting either in public or private accounting industries as well as: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Ability to research audit and statutory accounting issues A demonstrated progression in complexity, scope, and number of engagements managed. Strong communication skills and customer service focus Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines CPA license is preferred but not required Proficiency with computer systems in a paperless work environment is preferred.
