About the City and the Position:

The City of Mercer Island operates on a Council/Manager form of government.  Mercer Island is a full-service city with 199.5 FTEs and approximately 60 temporary and seasonal employees, and has a total 2016 adopted budget of $61.5 million.

The City Manager oversees all City departments and is assisted by the Assistant City Manager and the Assistant City Manager/Finance Director.  As a city, Mercer Island prides itself on communicating and working cooperatively with citizens and utilizing volunteers and citizen committees effectively.
