UNAIDS Research Assistant in AIDS policy (AAS-EO-01)

Category: Academic | Department: Executive Office | Closing Date: 15 May 2016 | The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to contribute to policy analysis, systematic reviews and policy development in the field of AIDS. This post is supported through a partnership between the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (www.lshtm.ac.uk) and United Nations Joint Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS, www.unaids.org/en/).  The post-holder will provide policy and science support, validation of science evidence, preparation of data for publication and presentation, evaluation of the impact of policy and technological developments on AIDS and monitoring of the impact of the broader policy environment on the HIV response.  The successful candidate will be educated to Masters degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant field (such as political science, health policy research, social science, public health, epidemiology and health economics) and preferably have had experience of working in low- and/or middle-income countries.  The candidate will have an understanding of systematic reviews, be able to undertake analysis and synthesis of complex information from multiple sources, using evidence-based research methods.    The starting salary will be on the Academic Pathway Scale Grade 5 in the range of £32,647 to £37,477 per annum, inclusive, according to qualifications and experience.
