Research Programme Coordinator (EPH-IDE-11)

Category: Professional Support | Department: Faculty of Epidemiology & Population Health | Closing Date: 05 May 2016 | The post holder will be responsible for providing financial, logistical and administrative support to the Group’s research programme, consisting of multiple research projects with a combined value of £2.3m. They will also manage their own portfolio of grants, and assist with communication activities.  Key responsibilities include monitoring project budgets and resources, preparing financial reports and grant applications, improving and updating the Group’s management information systems, organizing and facilitating meetings and acting as a central point of contact for Group members.  The role is integral to the functioning of the Programme and involves regular liaison with internal colleagues and external stakeholders. The post-holder will work closely with the Research Programme Manager, the Head of the Group and the Executive Committee, as well as with individual Group members (currently 35) based in London and overseas. This role would suit an experienced administrator with excellent interpersonal skills who thrives in a busy, creative environment, and with proven ability to assess priorities and show initiative in the management of a high workload. The post-holder would have proven experience of budget management, experience of managing projects and of committee work. The successful candidate will also have excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, proven ability to coordinate and prioritise a heavy workload, meet multiple deadlines and manage expectations. The appointment is available immediately and is currently funded until 31st October 2018. The appointment will be made on LSHTM’s Professional Support Grade 5 scale from £32,647-£34,403 depending on qualifications and experience.
