Senior Financial Analyst
This role will be responsible for supporting various FP&A activities for Thomson Reuter’s IP & Science business unit, including the annual plan process and monthly reporting, analysis and forecasting. This key position is expected to add value by creating executive quality management presentations, dashboards and metrics, identifying and driving business analysis, and providing decision support analysis to be used by management to facilitate informed decisions and to generate valuable insights and transparency around all areas of the business.This role will also build and enhance processes and controls across finance and related supporting systems. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial results and consistency with corporate and business unit accounting policies and procedures; and identifying and communicating risks and opportunities (limit surprises). This position will report into the Manager of FP&A and be based in Philadelphia, PA. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Creating monthly Opex and FTE forecasts for all shared functions in IP &Science (e.g. Marketing, Finance, HR)Month end financial close responsibilities and review for all shared functionsBusiness partnering and support for all shared functional leadsProviding hands-on support for the annual planning process and build for shared functional groupsParticipating in various group actions to review and improve business processes and related systems; including SAP and Hyperion;Manage relationship, audit schedules, and deliverables with internal and external (PwC) audit teamsMonthly assistance with IP & Science total financial consolidation for month end, forecast, and quarterly reporting cyclesAssist Decision Support team with ongoing requests including but not limited to monthly sales reporting, variable expense analysis, customer-level analysis, and multiple other ad-hoc requests;Maintaining compliance with Thomson Reuters finance, accounting and business policies;Driving continuous improvement by leveraging technology and eliminating unnecessary work and processes; andOther duties necessary to the efficient functioning of finance and administration.We are the leading source of intelligent information for the world's businesses and professionals, providing customers with competitive advantage. Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting (required); at least 3-5 years experience in finance or accounting at a professional level, with a minimum of 3 years of variance analysis, forecasting, budgeting and reporting experience;
- Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills (required) to prepare C-level presentations for financial reviews;Ability to visualize and design presentations based on supporting financial data;Excellent financial analytical skills combined with a strong attention to detail and the ability to present complex information in a usable format to a diverse audience;Advanced Excel skills (required) specifically (but not limited to) pivot table experience, vlookups, sumif, etc; Macros experience preferred;Competency with financial reporting systems and tools (required); candidates with experience with SAP and Hyperion preferred;Microsoft Access experience preferred;Knowledge of, and ability to interpret and apply, finance and accounting policies, practices, and systems;Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision making to achieve organizational objectives; with an ability to problem solve and facilitate solutions with limited direction;Strong planning, organization, customer service, and written/verbal communication skills; andSkill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams.Strong work ethic, with ability to work extended hours as requiredAt Thomson Reuters, we believe what we do matters.
