JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Provide financial support for the Government Segment. Analyze key drivers and trends of reported results and apply to financial modeling that supports decision making. This will include, but is not limited to, development and maintenance of monthly reporting and variance analysis, planning and forecasting processes, and working with business partners to develop and support the Segment’s strategic plan.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities and analyze variances to Plan and forecasts.
- Drive the annual financial plan and quarterly forecast processes by providing detailed sales, revenue, expense, capital and headcount forecasting.
- Work with Product Management & Editorial finance groups to understand key drivers of results and assumptions built into financial models and forecasts.
- Support segment with monthly reporting and analysis of sales, revenue, and expense results.
- Communicate with senior management monthly results, key drivers, variance to forecasts and other insights.
- Develop opportunities of efficiency gains by leveraging Finance Reporting center of excellence and coordinate communication and support for Finance colleagues in India.
- Provide analysis and financial modeling in support of business initiatives.
- Collaborative Government Segment support for business cases, promotions, and financial modeling and analysis.
- Provide Government Segment program and customer specific analytics to help support the business unit’s financial plan.
- Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Accounting or Finance preferred
- 2+ years relevant progressive experience post Bachelor's Degree
- Proven experience in financial accounting, management accounting, financial analysis, financial modeling, planning, forecasting and management reporting
- Detail orientated with strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Excellent written, oral, analytical and technical skills
- Highly motivated with the ability to work on a team as well as independently and drive results
- Proven experience in use and application of Excel, Powerpoint and Access
- Finance and Financial Systems experience
- Knowledge of SAP, Business Objects, Cognos, BEX, and Hyperion preferred
- Ability to work in an environment with changing priorities and time pressures
