Description

The VP of Global Payroll has global accountability for the payroll processes for the company, ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient compensation payment to employees, payroll related taxes to government agencies, and reporting of payroll to Finance. To meet this responsibility this person will govern the various vendor relationships that support the payroll process in addition to managing a global staff that is organized into 3 main regions around the world – Americas, EMEA, and Asia Pacific. They will provide strategic direction and engage with the other functions that have inputs or receive outputs of this process. They will be responsible to coordinate the overall process review with multiple teams to ensure the consistent delivery of services. The VP of Global Payroll has a budget to manage and will work with Global Sourcing to obtain the services of 3rd party providers and will be responsible for creating an environment that will attract, develop and retain talent.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Manage the global payroll process

- Engage with Regional Payroll leaders to ensure the delivery of payroll, manage issue resolution, and drive strategy and projects
- Review, enhance, simplify and develop payroll processes, including approval and oversight of all process changes
- Oversee payroll compliance
- Govern vendor relationships
- Ensure that adequate controls are in place
- Identify leading practices (structure, process, and/or technology) that can strengthen service delivery
- Contribute to functional and managerial policies
- Oversee change management to support process improvement
- Ensure that process documentation is accurate and up-to-date
- Pro-actively identify opportunities to drive improvements in partnership with all the related functions that are part of the end to end payroll process Performance Management
-Establish service expectations with the business
-Monitor ongoing performance against the service expectations and makes changes to processes as needed to achieve results
-Use metrics to drive continuous improvement and best practices Talent Management
-Responsible for resourcing, service model delivery and location decisions
-Build strong teams with a mindset that supports continuous process improvement and elimination of inefficiencies/ redundancies
-Ensure staff are adequately trained to perform at expected levels Stakeholder Management

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor degree preferred in finance, accounting, business or economics.
- 12+ years of industry experience required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Solid English language skills are required
- Demonstrated experience leading global operational processes and experience with multiple vendor relationships
- Demonstrated experience leading performance improvement initiatives. Six Sigma certification a plus
- Strong PC skills, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Significant supervisory experience required, including experience working with a shared service environment and overseeing global teams
- Able to delegate and remain organized while managing multiple variables
- Experience working with different cultures
- Demonstrates strong leadership (i.e. decisiveness and be seen as a reliable decision-maker by others, act in line with company values, deal with and lead through ambiguity, etc.)
- Builds effective relationships and partners with others to develop joint solutions. Deals with difficult customer (internal &external) situations with a professional and resourceful manner for resolution
