Network Administrator

This position will plan, implement, oversee, and maintain the server and network infrastructures and projects. Key Responsibilities: Acquires, configures, and maintains development, test, and production servers. Supports development, test, and production servers including after-hours support and monitoring server usage and up-time. Interfaces with vendors to obtain required equipment and software in a timely manner while ensuring proper audit and budget controls are met. Provides technical and procedural direction for the actual implementation of the network servers used, as well as interfaces with internal users, and other technical staff. Provides direction in complex problem solving situations and participates in direct interaction with internal staff as required. Builds, and maintains the servers required for development work, internal testing, and production environments. Maintains file version consistency across all development servers. Maintains access privileges and account groups as directed. Designs, implements, and maintains a consistent backup and disaster recovery plan. Provides technical direction on network topologies, server configurations, hardware/software deployments, firewall configurations, and other administrative tasks related to the staging and maintenance of our development, testing, and production servers. Ensures timely and effective delivery of hardware upgrades, network upgrades, and new configurations. Documents technical requirements, develops and oversees project plans, and implements change control procedures. Facilitates design sessions and architectural reviews. Participates in technical advisory roles as required. Acts as software support to the entire team, providing technical assistance to team members. Responds to user requests for service and determines nature and extent of support needed. Installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots a wide range of software. Performs hardware/software upgrades to existing computer equipment as needed. Responds to software problem calls on site or over the phone for users. Investigates error messages and determines resolutions. Reinstalls program or replaces files that are causing errors. Calls software vendor or accesses on line technical support to obtain software update. Responds to network log on house calls. Investigates appropriate areas of potential problem and determines resolution. Contacts software vendors to obtain specifications, pricing, and other purchase related information needed to guide departments in their selection of software. May assist in negotiating site license and coordinates volume purchase arrangements for software packages. Develops policies and procedures related to the implementation, conductivity, and utilization of the internal network including access to outside resources such as the internet. Troubleshoots network problems or systems failure involving hardware and software to determine the causes and possible solutions. Implements solutions to resolve problems. Participates on all hardware and software evaluations and maintains vendor contracts. Follows Trans Ovaâs policies and procedures.
