This position will be a key participant in providing useable, value-added information, reporting and analysis to the corporate organization. It will be a key contact for management on issues relating to expense, capital and FTE information. The position is also expected to have opportunities to present to senior level management within Corporate. An ideal candidate will be inquisitive in nature and think beyond the numbers to help with decision support.The Financial Analyst implements and interprets accounting and financial concepts for financial planning and control; performs analyses to determine present and future financial performance; and gathers, analyzes, prepares, reviews, and summarizes financial plans, forecasts and variance analyses in support of Corporate operations. In addition, this position will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial results and consistency with corporate policies and procedures; and identifying and communicating risks and opportunities.Key Responsibilities:Coordinates and performs financial planning, forecasting, reporting and analysis.Monitors attainment of financial and non-financial metrics.Assists with the coordination and implementation of the annual corporate budget process and interim forecasts.Manages financial reporting structure. Works closely with Master Data to ensure consistency and compliance to established policy.Liaises on key topics with the dedicated HR and financial support teams from SBUs, Corporate Finance organization and other corporate functions.Develops new reporting and analytical tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of monitoring the performance of assigned groups.Performs other special projects as assigned related to in-depth expense, headcount and capital spending analysis.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required. MBA preferred.Experience in financial accounting, management accounting, financial analysis, financial modeling, planning, forecasting and management reporting.Advanced capabilities and experience in the use and application of PC tools, mainly Excel and PowerPoint.Detail oriented with excellent analytical, quantitative and investigative skills.Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;Comfortable in a team environment with changing priorities and time pressures.Effectively work with virtual team members across the globe.Highly motivated and customer focused with ability to work independently within the context of a matrix organization and drive results; a self-starter.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proven ability to relate to all levels of management.Experience with SAP, BEx, Cognos and Hyperion is preferred, but not requiredAt Thomson Reuters, we believe what we do matters.
