Reporting into the Finance Manager - Treasury, the successful candidate will be part of a team of seven with collective foundational accountability spanning financial reporting and controls over treasury activities such as debt, derivatives and hedge accounting, FX deals, co-ordinating the company’s bank account administration process and maintaining the integrity of relevant systems and processes in the treasury accounting and back office operations space.

Day to day responsibilities:
Treasury Accounting
- Generation of accounting entries from the treasury system, including the valuation of foreign exchange transactions and the review and reconciliation of ledger balances for treasury activities.
- Co-ordination of the monthly close process including providing information and explanations for audit purposes.
- Processing and data management in the treasury management system and also continuous review of system and processes for improvements to drive greater efficiency.
- Due to the critical nature of many tasks there is a need to train in the responsibilities of other team members to ensure that the team’s commitments are met in the event of absence.

Controls
- Maintain an effective control environment over the accounting process of treasury activities including derivatives, FX deals and inter-company cash management.
- Manage treasury operational risks through robust controls including a periodic review of static data used in deal settlements and intra-group cash movements, bank payment authorizations and FX valuations.

Project
- There is currently a focus on completing and then leveraging the potential from a new treasury management system implementation. Project work will involve participation in the testing and implementation of upgrades and new functionality in systems employed.
- Participate in regular meetings to track the status of projects and ongoing activities and perform ad-hoc tasks as required.
- Opportunities may arise to support other team initiatives and this is likely to expand as the individual demonstrates successful results.

Qualifications
- Qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience
- A professional treasury qualification and/ or experience in a corporate treasury function, experience with SAP and SunGard Integrity Treasury system would be a strong advantage. Experienced with Microsoft Office applications (strong MS Excel skills is a must).
- Must be able to deliver results through effective problem solving and collaboration with others in the team as also across functions.
- Be able to adapt to evolving business and regulatory environments and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written and presentation skills
